Justice For Ahmad Al Marrach

On Monday April 22nd, news broke of a fatal stabbing footsteps away from the busy entrance to the Halifax Shopping Centre.

The victim, Ahmad Al Marrach is a 16 year old boy. The two alleged perpetrators.. one of whom seemed to gloat about their brutal act online... are only 14 years old.

In this episode, I’m joined by investigative journalist Paul Palango and defense lawyer Adam Rodgers to discuss this disturbing story and the impact Canada's Youth Criminal Justice Act plays in the pursuit of Justice for Ahmad Al Marrach.

the Story of Rocky Rambo Wei Nam Kam (with Jack Luna)

When Dianna Mah-Jones uncharacteristically missed a meeting, a co-worker went to her house to check on her. What was found in the home was aftermath of one of Vancouver’s most horrific crimes.

The double murder of 65 year old Dianna Mah-Jones and her 68 year old husband Richard Jones was as brutal as it is senseless.

When the suspect, 25 year old Rocky Rambo Wei Nam Kam, was questioned he seemed more interested in talking to police about video games then what happened inside the home.

In fact, video games would become a major part of the case… as Rocky Rambo’s defense is that he thought he was in one when the elderly couple were brutally murdered.

Bernie Herman and the murder of Braden Herman

Prince Albert, SK - May 11, 2021

Bernie Herman has been with the RCMP for over 30 years and at 55 years old, retirement was inching closer every day.

With a wife at home, children grown, and grandchildren to enjoy, you would expect the veteran Mountie was anxious spend his golden years stretching out in the life he spent a lifetime building.

But, that's far from the way Bernie's story goes.

For reasons we may never fully understand, Bernie formed a friendship with a young man he met on facebook and that relationship evolved into something between a father/son dynamic and an extramarital affair.

What we do know, is that whatever motivated and nurtured the relationship isn't what ended it.

While in his uniform, and with his RCMP issued firearm, Bernie shot his 25 year old lover dead in a wooded area on the outside of town. Evidence suggests he drove over his naked body as he left the scene.

Part 1

In this episode Madelayne Klein and I will discuss the story Bernie Herman, and the murder of Braden Herman.

Part 2 - Coming Soon

In this episode we will continue our coverage of Bernie Herman and the murder of Braden Herman.

In this episode we will be joined by Braden’s brother Brett to discuss the story of Bernie Herman and the murder of his brother Braden.

The Disappearance of Devon Marsman (last seen Feb, 2022 in Halifax, NS)

I only need to walk a block or two in any direction from my home to see a poster pleading for information related to the disappearance of 16 year old Devon Marsman.

Devon was last seen in late February of 2022, and since then there has been little in the way of reliable details, tips, or sightings.

The most significant thing those searching for him have learned is that Devon seemed to have maintained two separate sets of personal relationships. One group his parents knew about and another group they didn't.

As you may have guessed it’s the later group are the people Devon spend his last known days with... and their ever evolving stories have done nothing but obscure the trail left behind.

Part 1 - Recorded July 2022 (5 months after Devon’s disappearance)

In this episode we meet Theresa Gray, Devon's mom, and discuss the unexplained disappearance of her 16 year old son Devon Marsman.

Part 2 - Recorded Feb 2024 (2 years after Devon’s disappearance)

In this episode we catch up with Theresa Gray to discuss the unexplained disappearance of her 16 year old son Devon Marsman as it is understood on the second anniversary.

the 1994 C.P. Allen High School Cow Incident (Halifax, Nova Scotia)

Ryan Sommers has a rather remarkable story to tell.

Back in 1994, when he was a student at C.P. Allen High School, he was involved in an economics project in which groups of students started businesses.

Ryan's group decided on running a sort of gambling scenario that involved bringing a cow to the school's sports field, and having people wager bets on where it would first poop.

As you will hear in this episode, the entire event went horribly wrong, and resulted in a cow chase involving RCMP, animal control officers, and large groups of excited school kids.

the Story of Lionel Desmond

On Jan. 3, 2017, Afghanistan war veteran Lionel Desmond bought a semi-automatic rifle, dressed himself in camo, and snuck through the woods to his family home.

Inside he shot his mother, his wife, and his 10-year-old daughter before turning the gun on himself.

The factors that led to this horrific outcome, and the red flags missed/ignored along the way were the topics of a public inquiry that has just concluded.

In this episode a sort of eclipse in storytelling and case analysis will occur as co-host of the Sunday Night Show series, Adam Rodgers, served as the deceased Lionel Desmond's legal representative in the inquiry.

Using insight gained through the inquiry, Adam Rodgers will walk Paul Palango and I through the story of Lionel Desmond, the deaths of Lionel and his family, the search for accountability, and where we are at today.

the Canadian Military Vs. the Sex Worker (who offers a military discount)

I love a David vs. Goliath story, and in this episode we have an especially lopsided mismatch.

Our Goliath is the Canadian Military and our David is a modest sex worker offering a discounted rate to soldiers.

The first stones have already been thrown in this battle but so far the military has done little more than offer the kind of advertisement an entrepreneur would dream of.

For example, the memo sent throughout the Kingston, Ontario military base warning it's members to not seek the services of the local sex worker offering military discounts... well... that didn't go as planned.

In this episode Madelayne Klein and I are joined by Tina... who is the last person the Canadian military wants it's employees sleeping with.

Our guest (who will have their voice altered and will be referred to simply as Jane) has a story that begins in Halifax, Nova Scotia, back when she was just 14 years old.

A chance encounter, during an age and time of vulnerability, led her through experiences she is very fortunate to have survived.

Thankfully, she did and she is willing to share her story with us in hopes that it shines a light on the surprisingly active child sex trade.

Despite the instability of her lifestyle, Emily was reliable. She posted regularly to social media and had scheduled visits with her children that she would NEVER miss.

But she did miss one in January and very quickly it was determined that no one had seen or heard from her in over a week and the trail she left behind is obscured by conflicting statements of the unreliable witnesses to her last known days.

the Story of Eligio 'Natureboy' Bishop

When 20 year old Newfoundland resident Kayla Reid went missing, it was suspected that she had traveled from her home in Corner brook to the province's capital city of St John's.

Two weeks later, when she turned up on Youtube using the name Sunray in a video filmed far from the rocky shores of Newfoundland, the story changed from a missing persons case into something much more unique.

In the days that followed, the media would facilitate a back and forth battle between the people calling for Kayla's return and the Costa Rican cult she now called her family.

In this series we explore the stranger than fiction story of Kayla Reid and the cult leader she choose to follow, Eligio ‘Natureboy’ Bishop.

In this episode, we will hear the timeline of this unique story and hear from Sunray who recently returned to Newfoundland.

In The Rise Of Natureboy, I will use excerpts of my conversation with Natureboy that cover his life as Eligio Bishop, and end with his spiritual awakening as Natureboy.

In the prior episode "The Rise of Natureboy" we heard Natureboy describe the life he lived prior to his spiritual awakening, as Bishop (a male model / stripper / salon owner).

In this follow up episode, the story will continue from the point he decides to leave the United States.

In this "where are they now" style episode, Sunray will tell us about what she has been up to in the 6 months since we last spoke.

In this "where are they now" episode, I'll share as much as I know about the recent activities in Natureboy's wild wild life.
